UST Angelicum College, on its 50th Foundation year, through its partnership with the Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SEOULTECH), was chosen by the King Sejong Institute Foundation Inc., of the South Korean government, to establish the King Sejong Institute Quezon City – UST Angelicum College.
UST AC through the Academic Affairs Division’s international relations initiative participated in a competitive selection process and in-person inspection administered by the panelists from KSI. The process included a panel interview, submission of documents, videos, and photos showing the facilities of UST AC that will be used to deliver the said program.
The King Sejong Institute aims to propagate the Korean language and culture through partnerships. To materialize this goal, Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in South Korea select partner universities all over the world. For this year, SeoulTech has chosen to collaborate with UST Angelicum to develop a language program for Filipinos who are interested to learn the Korean language either for cultural appreciation or employment opportunities in South Korea. The program is set to last for three years once the test operation from August 2022 until December 2022 succeeds.
This year’s search is the most competitive, and UST Angelicum College is the only academic institution in the Philippines to have been designated as one of the new King Sejong Institutes for 2022.
This program will operate under the supervision of the Office of the Academic Affairs, headed by its Director and the College Dean, Dr. Eunice Mareth Areola.
